In keeping with our philosophy that children learn best through play, our educational exhibits are designed to engage children through hands-on experiences.
Museum field trips include unlimited play in our Museum’s seven different exhibit galleries.
While visiting the Museum children will engage in experiential activities which correlate to both national and state educational standards.

- Groups of 15 or more children may visit the Museum as a field trip group at a discounted rate of $6.00 per person.
- For all groups, one chaperone for every five children is required and these chaperones receive free admission. Additional adults may pay the $6.00 admission.
- Payment is required prior to the beginning of the field trip, and may be done in advance or on the day of. No advanced-payment refunds can be made on the day of your trip. The Museum accepts cash, business checks, Master Card or Visa. No refunds are issued on the field trip day.
- A field trip stay (not including travel time and lunch) is usually about 2 hours.
- The Museum is handicap accessible, but please call in advance so we can best accommodate special needs.
- Field trips can arrive on 2nd or Orange Street, and should check in through the main entrance.
- Bus parking is located one block down, just past the Village Market.
- Bag lunches may be brought to the Museum and eaten in our courtyard, multi-purpose room or at a nearby park.
Do More!
Add a Special Program to expand your Museum field trip experience. Programs last approximately 20-30 minutes and take place in the multi-purpose room with Museum Educators. Group size must be between 15-25 children. Special Program costs are $3 per child and are in addition to the $6.00 per person group rate. Programs are appropriate for grades K-5. Please specify grade level when booking your field trip and adding a special program.
Molecule Madness
Introduce your students to the states of matter with this hands-on chemistry-focused experience. Students will investigate the properties of various matter and observe their relationships to each other. They will learn the difference between mixtures and solutions and be able to identify the properties of the states of matter.
Colossal Creations
Create a collaborative art project for your classroom...or ours! Working together your students will use colors and shapes to express their imagination. Inspired by their own experiences and their five senses and a variety of media, your students will develop their fine and gross motor skills while creating a masterpiece.
