CMoW Camps
The Children's Museum of Wilmington believes that children learn best through hands-on and creative educational experiences. We provide children with programs and interactive exhibits that emphasize critical thinking skills, STEAM instruction, and hands-on projects in small group sizes. We offer a wide variety of themed camps led by engaged, qualified educators, to fit and support every child's interests. Our unique layout comprises three beautiful historic buildings, an interactive water exhibit, and an outdoor play area, giving children plenty of kid-friendly spaces to move, learn and play.

General Camp Information

This year's camps are for ages 5-9 years old.

Drop-off for all camps starts at 9am at the Cowan House door on Second Street. If you need to drop off your child earlier, AM care with early drop-off starting at 8am is available for $25 per week. You can add this by choosing “Camp + AM Care” under “Ticket type” when you purchase each week of camp.

Camp pick-up is promptly at 1pm at the Science Center doors next to our main entrance on 116 Orange St. Please have your ID ready to check out your camper.

Your child will need a snack, lunch, water bottle, and change of clothes. Outside toys are not permitted at camp.

Camps are $250 per week for non-members and $200 per week for members. AM care with early drop-off starting at 8am is available for $25 per week.

CAMP THEMES & DATES
Bugs & Blooms
April 14-18, 9 AM-1 PM
Join us for a fun-filled, nature-inspired adventure at Bugs & Blooms Camp! This hands-on camp invites young explorers to get their hands dirty in the garden and explore the world around them. Campers will help plant, tend to, and nurture a beautiful garden while learning about the incredible insects and critters that help it grow. With plenty of outdoor activities, interactive lessons, and a chance to connect with the environment, Bugs & Blooms is the perfect way for children to explore, learn, and grow this spring!
Camp CMoW
June 9-13, 9AM-1 PM
Kick off the summer with a week of exploration, creativity, and hands-on fun at Camp CMoW! Each day, campers will dive into a new and exciting theme, experiencing everything The Children’s Museum of Wilmington has to offer—from art to STEM to literacy. Through engaging activities, interactive exhibits, and creative projects, curiosity will be fueled each day. To top it all off, we’ll wrap up the week with a special field trip, making for an unforgettable start to summer! Join us for a fun-filled adventure at Camp CMoW, where every day brings a new experience! 🎨🔬📖✨
Art Camp
June 16th - 20th, 9 AM-1 PM
Join us for Art Camp this summer! We will be exploring the art work of many famous artists. The campers will be inspired by these masters to create their own acrylic and watercolor paintings, collage, sculptures and more. Other activities will include daily museum time, independent art work and an art show as we close the week.
Camp Superkid
July 7th - 11th, 9 AM-1 PM
Calling all future heroes! At Camp Superkid, every camper will discover their superpowers and learn what it takes to be a hero. Through fun-filled activities and exciting challenges, campers will create their own superhero identities, develop awesome powers, and work together to save the day! Throughout the week, we’ll tackle missions, design gadgets, and train like real heroes. From mastering superhero agility to using science to develop superpowers, campers will build teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity while having the time of their lives. Are you ready to be a hero? Join us at Camp Superkid for a week full of super fun, super skills, and super teamwork! 🦸♂️💥
Summer Scientists
July 21st - 25th, 9 AM-1 PM
Put on your lab coats and safety goggles—it’s time to experiment, explore, and discover! This week at Summer Scientists Camp, we’ll dive into the scientific method, learning how real scientists ask questions, test ideas, and make exciting discoveries. Campers will get hands-on with test tubes, microscopes, and thrilling experiments, recording their findings in personal science journals just like real researchers. From chemistry reactions to close-up investigations of the microscopic world, every day will bring a new opportunity to observe, hypothesize, and uncover the wonders of science. Who knows? Spy Academy
August 4th - 8th, 9 AM-1 PM
Welcome to Spy Academy, where young agents-in-training will embark on a top-secret adventure filled with mystery, teamwork, and hands-on discovery! At Spy Academy, we will work together to develop essential spy skills like code-breaking, disguise creation, secret message writing, and more. Each day, recruits will tackle exciting missions that blend science, art, and literacy focused learning. Are you ready to accept the mission? Think, Tinker, Create
June 23rd-27th, 9 AM-1 PM
Get ready to think outside the box, tinker with new ideas, and create amazing inventions! At Think, Tinker, Create, we will explore the exciting world of engineering and discover how it shapes the world around us. Through hands-on challenges, young innovators will design, build, and test their own creations—learning the power of problem-solving and teamwork along the way. From constructing towering structures to experimenting with simple machines, each day will be filled with exciting projects that spark curiosity and creativity. Join us for a week of engineering adventures at Think, Tinker, Create! 🔧💡
Animal Adventures
July 14th - July 18th, 9 AM-1 PM
Get ready to embark on a wild journey at Animal Adventures! This camp is all about discovering the amazing world of animals from all corners of the globe. Each day, we’ll uncover fascinating facts, surprising adaptations, and the incredible ways animals interact with their environments. But the adventure doesn’t stop there! We’ll also step into the role of a real-life veterinarian in our Animal Alley exhibit, where campers will imagine what it’s like to care for animals big and small. From learning about pet care to practicing hands-on activities, we’ll dive into what it takes to keep our furry, scaly, and feathered friends happy and healthy. Time Travelers
July 28th - August 1st, 9 AM-1 PM
Pack your bags (and your imagination) because we’re going on an epic journey through time! At Time Travelers Camp, campers will explore different eras of history—from the age of the dinosaurs to ancient civilizations, medieval castles, and even the future! Each day, we’ll step into a new time period, uncovering the incredible inventions, cultures, and mysteries of the past while imagining what the future might hold. Through hands-on activities, games, and creative projects, campers will dig up fossils, design medieval shields, build ancient structures, and even invent futuristic gadgets. Get ready for a week of adventure, discovery, and time-bending fun at Time Travelers Camp! Who knows where (or when) we’ll end up next? 🦖📜🏛️🕰️
