Honorary Co-Chairs Announced for the 2017 YachtVenture
Wilmington, N.C. - On June 16, 2017 The Children's Museum of Wilmington is proud to announce Beth and Bob Cherry as the Honorary Co-Chairs of YachtVenture, its annual fundraising gala. This is a milestone year for the Museum as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the opening of the Children's Museum doors and the Cherrys were actively involved in making that happen.
This year, Yacht Venture will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Marine Max Wrightsville Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Cherry have been active members of the Wilmington community for over thirty years. Bob is a partner with Marshall Williams & Gorham LLP and is an active member of St. Andrews Covenant Church.
Beth is a former President of the Junior League of Wilmington, founding member of Good Friends of Wilmington, a member of the UNC-CH Women's Leadership Council, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Brigade Boys and Girls Club. Beth has given much time, energy, and gifts to philanthropies both in Wilmington and the state of North Carolina that help to improve the lives of children.
Beth and Bob have three children. Their son Dr. Bob Cherry III lives in Wilmington and is a Pediatric Dentist. Beth and Bob's three grandchildren also live in Wilmington and have been frequent visitors of the Children's Museum.
"For twenty years we have benefited from the service and commitment of so many supportive community members," said Jim Karl, Executive Director of the Children's Museum. "It's people like the Cherrys that make what we do possible and we can't think of a better way to honor them," he said.
The evening will be one you won't want to miss. Stroll the docks, explore the yachts and wine and dine in the fabulous place we all live and work.
