Pizza, Putt Putt, & Craft Beer: Adults Play in Unique Way at Children's Museum Fundraiser

DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON, NC- Only a few more days until we help kick off Cape Fear Craft Beer Week and transform into an 18-hole miniature golf course. Big kids in Wilmington will have the chance to sample local craft beer, enjoy fresh pizza, and play everyone's favorite past time - putt-putt! We host our annual Pizza Putt fundraiser this Saturday, March 24th from 6pm - 10pm. The first 200 guests will also receive a Children's Museum mood stadium cup!

A unique way for adults to play, we have added some new features to this year's fundraiser. Try your luck in the Mug Master Challenge where the last man standing will win a ½ day kayak rental with Hook, Line & Paddle and a Reel Cafe gift card. Have a favorite party jam? You can submit your song request to be added to the Pizza Putt Playlist. The most exciting feature, aside from the beer and pizza of course, is the raffle. This year's items up for grabs include a Beer Education and Sampling Journey for eight from Edward Teach Brewery or six pizzas from Your Pie Pizza. On top of that, we will be using our new Virtual Reality system for the fundraiser, as two holes out of the 18 will be in the Virtual Reality exhibit. The fundraiser will also have live art in the courtyard, with showings from The Art of Gaeten, Jahde Justad Art, and JLStrickland Art.

"I love Pizza Putt, I come every year!" Says Knox Gray, a guest at this year's Pizza Putt, "it's a great way for me to support The Children's Museum, and I get to try local beer and pizza while I'm at it. This year I'm excited for some of my favorite breweries to make an appearance, like Edward Teach Brewing!"

While Pizza Putt is an event for only the big kids (21 and up), all proceeds go to CMoW making it a win-win for everyone.

The Pizza Putt fundraiser will kick off an exciting year for us. We have added several new exhibits and secured funding for needed facility maintenance. To top it all off we also celebrated 20 years of service to the community this past October and plan to continue to be a permanent community resource for many more years to come.
