The Children’s Museum of Wilmington Debuts its new Wellness Way Exhibit

DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON, NC - On Friday, October 2nd, The Children’s Museum of Wilmington (CMoW) will debut its new Wellness Way Exhibit, sponsored by Wilmington Health. The ribbon cutting will be on Friday, October 2nd at 10:30 a.m. and is open to the public. Regular admission pricing applies for the day. Admission tickets can be reserved at www.playwilmington.org.

This exhibit has three main focuses - infant care, anatomy, and wellness. Through role playing with dolls, not only will children learn the basics of infant care, they will improve their social, language, and motor skills as well as learn empathy and responsibility. This exhibit aims to educate children about anatomy and how systems in our body help keep us healthy. Children will also learn how antibodies and white blood cells work together to fight off any germs that may have entered their body with the interactive maze.

Wilmington Health formally sponsored the Teddy Bear Hospital exhibit which has been transformed into Wellness Way. “We are so thankful that Wilmington Health, our longest standing exhibit sponsor, understood and supported our request to update and relocate their exhibit,” states CMoW Executive Director Jim Karl. “Wellness Way provides a great opportunity for children to learn about infant care and human body system basics while enjoying a space that encourages imaginative and creative play.”

“While we will miss the memories of the teddy bears bandaged from head to toe, we look forward to the evolution of the teddy bear hospital as it transitions into an interactive, preventative, educational care focused exhibit for the children in our community,” states Wilmington Health Provider Recruitment and Relations Alysa Bostick. “Thank you CMoW for bringing our shared vision to life.”
