StarNews: Learn healthy food growing, eating practices at Family Farm Day




Parents do you have a picky eater? The Children’s Museum of Wilmington will be holding an event that might interest you.


The Museum will host Family Farm Day on Saturday, May 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event, supported by NourishNC, is dedicated to community, sustainability, and education surrounding healthy growing and eating practices.


Participants can make their own butter, plant a seedling, "shop" at the kid-friendly farmers market in the museum's courtyard, and more. Activities include making seed bombs, planting seedlings, do it yourself butter, animal washing station, animal visor craft, and a photo station.


Tickets must be purchased online. General admission, Navigator, Explorer, Adventurer Member tickets are available. For tickets and more information, visit playwilmington.org/family-farm-day.


In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, safe, social distancing practices throughout the event will be held. Face coverings will be required for each attendee and temperatures will be taken upon arrival at the event. Each adult in the group will be asked to review and acknowledge a health waiver.
